Key Spaces
Reception:
A welcoming entry point that sets the tone of simplicity and sophistication. A light oak reception desk with clean lines anchors the space, complemented by neutral-toned seating for visitors. The flooring is kept minimal—either polished concrete or light wood—enhanced by a soft rug in muted tones. Wall-mounted shelves display curated décor pieces like ceramic vases and framed abstract prints, while indoor plants in terracotta or stone pots add warmth and freshness. Ample natural light, filtered through linen curtains, ensures the area feels bright and approachable.
Canteen:
Designed for comfort and community, the canteen embraces functionality without sacrificing style. Wooden dining tables paired with a mix of sleek chairs and cozy benches create a casual dining setup. Neutral cabinetry and open shelving showcase neatly arranged mugs, plates, and glassware. Pendant lamps in matte black or soft white hang overhead, providing warm, diffused lighting. Pops of greenery, like herbs in small planters, soften the clean lines and invite a homely atmosphere. A coffee station with minimal appliances and a natural wood counter becomes a focal point for both breaks and casual conversation.
Relaxation Area:
A calm corner dedicated to unwinding and recharging. Low lounge chairs and a soft fabric sofa in neutral shades are layered with textured cushions and throws. A large wool or jute rug anchors the seating area, while side tables in light wood hold books, magazines, or a cup of coffee. The lighting is soft—floor lamps with linen shades and candles in ceramic holders add to the cozy atmosphere. Potted plants, wall art in calming tones, and perhaps a minimalist bookshelf create a serene backdrop. This space encourages creativity, reflection, or simply a peaceful pause from work.
Details
Color Palette
The project features a neutral color scheme with whites, beiges, and light grays as the foundation. These tones are paired with soft pastel accents, such as muted blues, greens, or blush pinks, to add subtle depth and warmth. This palette evokes calmness and mirrors the natural landscapes of Sweden.
Materials and Textures
Natural materials play a vital role in the design. Warm-toned woods like oak and birch are used for flooring, furniture, and wall panels, creating a sense of warmth. Soft textures, including wool, cotton, and linen, add tactile comfort, while touches of leather and ceramics provide contrast and sophistication.
Furniture
The furniture selection emphasizes clean lines and functionality, with pieces that blend seamlessly into the space without overpowering it. Multi-functional and space-saving designs, such as extendable tables or storage-integrated sofas, are prominent. Classic Scandinavian design icons, such as Hans Wegner-inspired chairs, are subtly incorporated.
Lighting
Natural light is maximized with large windows dressed in sheer linen curtains, allowing light to flow freely. Artificial lighting includes pendant lights, floor lamps, and wall sconces in minimalist, modern designs. Warm-toned LED lights are used to create a cozy ambiance during darker months.
